"Given the sparse output from Xenomorph's local death metal scene during the 90s, this album's continued obscurity could be chalked up to geographical isolation, though honestly the lack of a follow up due to the untimely death of front man Joe Papek a year after this album's initial release was likely the chief culprit. This band not only possessed a high degree of potential for the future, but managed to exploit a great deal of it right on an out of nowhere debut LP, as the band's rhythm section more than proves their salt as technicians on their respective instruments. Bassist Bill Taylor (Beguiling Tempter) would go on have an extensive career as a guitarist in a number of bands, including a prominent 15 year stint with Immolation, whereas kit destroying virtuoso Chris Haley (Zoanthros Vanir, a rather fitting alias given that he drums on here with the ferocity of Mayhem's renowned drummer Hellhammer) has largely stuck to the Midwestern scene and appeared in a number of independent acts. But despite this album's perpetually obscure state, it's a fine showing in the old school style with a technical edge that will certainly agree with any fans of the New York death metal sound of the early 90s." - Metal Archives review
