JUDECCA - "AWAKENED BY AN ETERNAL DEATH AND BEYOND" CD reissue

Judecca - a name known only to the truest of true old school death metal freaks.

Birthed in 1991 in the burgeoning Florida death metal scene, the band self-released their debut demo "Eternal Rest" a year later in 1992. It was followed up with another self-released demo ("Scenes of an Obscure Death") in 1993. This demo caught the attention of the legendary Wild Rags Records. The band inked a deal with the label, whom released their "Awakened by the Stench of the Dead" 7" EP that same year. Soon after, Wild Rags reissued the "Scenes of an Obscure Death" demo on cassette and CD in 1994.

All of this culminated in the band's debut (and only) full length album "Beyond, What the Eyes Can't See..." - released by Wild Rags Records in 1995. Truly a forgotten classick record of a bygone era. The band was playing old school brutality at a time when death metal had become "out of favor." A few years later they would disband.

Thanks to the internet, this record (and the band's earlier works) have gained a cult-like status. In part due to the rarity (good luck finding the band's album on Discogs or eBay!), and because of just how good this material is. The band's sound teetered on the verge of being brutal death metal - reminiscent of the proto-BDM of Baphomet and Banished. But it maintained its old school death metal feel and primitivity.

Spanish label Dan's Crypt Records collected all of the band's recorded works and released it on the CD compilation "Awakened by an Eternal Death and Beyond" back in 2013. It's long been sold out, so in 2024, the label finally opted to reissue it once again. Once again it is SOLD OUT from the label.

It contains all of the band's releases (22 total tracks) along with a 12-page booklet containing all of the lyrics, and old photos from the band, with new artwork by Mike Majeski - the former vocalist of Devourment.
